ADRD 2025 Poster Presentation

California Academic Geriatrics Institutions (CAGI) Conference 2025

Dr. Michelle Keller from the University of Southern California (USC), Jasmyn J. Tang, and Valerie Nguyen presented their project: Disparities in Anti-Dementia Drug Used in ADRD by Specialist at the California Academic Geriatrics Institutions Conference on May 30 at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).  

American Heart Association EPI Lifestyle Scientific Sessions 2025

Dr. Utibe Essien and Jasmyn J. Tang presented 2 projects at the AHA EPI conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, entitled: "Race and Ethnicity and Oral Anticoagulation Adherence in Older Adults with Atrial Fibrillation: A Nationwide Study and Neighborhood-Level Racial and Ethnic Residential Segregation" and "Incidence of Atrial Fibrillation: The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA)."

Showcasing PEARL Lab's research and collaboration, Jasmyn J. Tang presented on the "Association of Race and Ethnicity with Stroke and Mortality Outcomes in Atrial Fibrillation", comparing incidences of stroke and mortality across demographic groups of VA  patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF).

Addressing Disparities in Accessing Antiobesity Medications

On the final day of the American Diabetes Association 84th Scientific Sessions, Dr. Essien reviewed disparities in obesity treatment, and which specific populations are more likely to experience obesity in the United States.
