About
Denali Kagel has been the administrative assistant for Dr. Essien and other UCLA faculty members since the beginning of 2024. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Washington State University in 2016, and worked extensively in healthcare settings in Seattle. Denali was born and raised in Southcentral Alaska where he gained a lifelong love for nature and the outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoys recording music, attending concerts, organizing with mutual aid groups, and watching terrible sci-fi movies with his partner.
