Sudarshan (“Sud”) Krishnamurthy is an M.D./Ph.D. student at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine with a health justice focus and is interested in the effects of social and structural determinants of health. Sud’s dissertation focuses on investigating place-based determinants' impact on risk factors associated with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Sud has previously worked with Utibe to elucidate the determinants, drivers, and pathways to pharmacoequity, and is currently working with him on projects examining pharmacoequity in the treatment of breast cancer. Sud also co-directs the Clinical Problem Solvers Antiracism in Medicine Podcast Series to democratize the praxis of antiracism in medicine and healthcare, and has recorded episodes alongside Utibe. Sud organizes with tenants in the Winston-Salem and North Carolina communities to improve tenants’ housing conditions through the formation of tenant unions.
